Early years of Gary Vee
Gary Vee is the son of Sasha and Tamara Vaynerchuk and has one sibling, AJ Vaynerchuk, who is also his business partner in many endeavours. Gary’s family emigrated to the United States from what was then the Soviet Union in 1978, settling in Edison, New Jersey following a period of residence in Queens.
According to his own account, Vaynerchuk was never a model student at North Hunterdon High School, from which he graduated in 1993. Since he joined his family’s retail-wine business at the age of 14, his enthusiasm for business was clear from the time he was a child.

Five years after graduating from Mount Ida College in Newton, Massachusetts, Gary Vee increased the annual income of his family’s wine business from $3 million to $60 million by 2003. He initiated online sales and a daily YouTube video blog called Wine Library TV, which he discontinued after 1000 episodes.
In 2020, Gary Vee sold Empathy Wines to Constellation Brands, a company he co-founded. Vaynerchuk has been hailed as the first wine expert on YouTube, where he provided wine reviews, conducted tastings, and recommended wines to buy.

In 2011, Vaynerchuk left the wine company to concentrate on VaynerMedia, a digital advertising agency he co-founded with his brother AJ in 2009. VaynerMedia offers social media strategy services to organisations such as Pepsi, Anheuser-Busch, and Hulu.
He is also the chairman of VaynerX, a media holdings firm that owns Tracer. In 2017, Gary Vee created Gallery Media Group, a subsidiary of Vayner X that contains news outlets ONE37pm and PureWow.
