Mark Edward Fischbach, also known by his moniker Markiplier, is a content developer, podcaster, and voice actor. According to Forbes, he has one of the top 100 most subscribed YouTube channels and is the third most paid YouTuber. In 2022, Markiplier has a net worth of $35 million.
Fischbach was born on June 28, 1989, in Honolulu, Hawaii. His father is of German descent and met Mark’s Korean mother while serving in the United States military.
His older brother, Jason Thomas, became an artist as an adult. Following Mark’s birth, the family moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. There he spent the majority of his youth.
He was a trumpet player in the marching band at Milford High School. He attended the University of Cincinnati to study biomedical engineering, but he dropped out to concentrate on YouTube. His father also passed away during this time due to cancer.
On March 6, 2012, Fischbach started the Markiplier channel. His username consists of the elements Mark and multiplier. Initially, he intended for the channel to be a sketch comedy show.
He subsequently created gameplay videos. In 2014, Fischbach announced that he will be relocating to Los Angeles to enhance his material. After the passing of his close buddy Daniel Kyre in 2015, he stopped sharing movies.
When he returned, Fischbach demonstrated his desire to work in spontaneous theatre by shifting his attention back to comic sketches. This choice was well-received by fans, and he now has 32,3 million subscribers. This places his YouTube channel in the top 95 most-subscribed channels.
Mark chose to begin live streaming and podcasting in 2018. He collaborated with Bob Muysken and Wade Barnes to launch the 3 Peens in a Podcast on the Twitch live streaming platform.
In May of 2021, the same team will launch a podcast titled Distractible. This time, the presentation was not live. It was prerecorded by QCode and is accessible on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
On Markiplier’s third podcast, he was now joined by Tyler Scheid. The title of their programme is Go! My Favorite Sports Team. They present subjects for all levels of sports lovers.
Markiplier earns between $10 million and $20 million annually from his various social media enterprises. Mark does more than create videos and podcasts, however. He is also an entrepreneur.
In November 2014, Fischbach was on the board of Red Giant Entertainment, a comic book publisher. In 2016, it was confirmed that Mark would receive his own comic book line. He also provides voices for Cartoon Network.
In 2018, Markiplier debuted Cloak, a new clothing collection co-designed with Jacksepticeye. It was meant to be a sportswear line geared towards gamers.
Mark was brought to the hospital in 2015 for stomach issues. Years later, a fist-sized tumour was removed from his adrenal gland. His appendix was swollen as well. In late 2020, he was hospitalised for digestive problems once more.
Thankfully, the condition was not fatal. He did not require surgery. Mark has been dating Amy Nelson since 2015, and he is currently residing in Los Angeles with her.
