Pachinko is the kind of epic story that could easily fail on screen, yet Apple TV+’s adaptation has defied expectations to become one of the year’s best television programs.
Much of this is due to Soo Hugh’s innovative approach to the subject. Rather than employing the same chronological technique as Min Jin Lee did in the book, the showrunner of Pachinko decided to weave together many histories to create a mesmerizing tapestry of Sunja’s life across multiple generations.
This method will only be successful if Pachinko is brought back for the multiple seasons it deserves. Hugh hopes to continue the series for a total of four seasons, and Apple has stated that season two is already in production (via Deadline).
“In no way could or should the novel’s plot be told in a single season,” she told Variety. “It would be an insult to the achievements of the book. We want to live alongside all of our characters and explore what it means to be alive. This was always our objective when filming the show. Season two has us crossing our fingers.”
Now it has been confirmed! Join us at Digital Spy as we explore the second season of Pachinko on Apple TV+.
Date of Pachinko Season 2’s Release
Pachinko is a popular American drama television series with a premiere date of March 25, 2022. This comedy gets a second season, Season 2, after gaining immense popularity after only a few episodes. Who will return in Pachinko’s second season?
Youn Yuh-jung (as Kim Sunja), Kim Min-ha (as young Sunja), and Lee Min-ho (as Koh Hansu) are almost set to return, along with the following cast members:
• Soji Arai portrays Baek Mozasu; Jin Ha portrays Solomon Baek; Han Jun-woo portrays Baek Yoseb; and Jung Eun-chae portrays Kyunghee.
• Felice Choi as Kyunghee’s mother; • Steve Sanghyun Noh as Baek Isak; and • Anna Sawai as Naomi.
New characters, including younger and older versions of previously introduced characters, may also appear.
The plot of Season Two of Pachinko
In Pachinko Season 2, fans will be able to observe the characters’ personal development. This was also highlighted by Lee Min-ho during an interview. Sunja achieved financial independence by selling kimchi at the end of the first season, as witnessed by the audience. It is thought that with this occupation, she will be able to provide for her family while her husband is incarcerated.
To date, the series has faithfully adhered to the novel’s premise. However, the narrative does not have a number of surprising twists and turns, such as Naomi’s entry. Season 2 of Pachinko can also contain unexpected turns. One thing is certain: Noa will play a larger role in the second season of Pachinko. The first season was highly emotional, and it is likely that the second season will be the same. In the second season, Kyunghee, portrayed by Eun-Chae Jung, will grow stronger and more mature. Due to their youth, Noa and Mozasu’s brotherhood could not be effectively represented in the first season. In the second season, the mysterious bond of their brotherhood will be revealed to the audience. Their union is something that audiences may predict, and it was also clear in the novel. Clearly, this is a spoiler for the second season.
Pachinko The stakes are enormous and Season 2 will be more dramatic than Season 1. Due to the fact that the story will continue to evolve, the second season’s scope and stakes will be exceedingly high. The first season was definitely incredible, and the second should not disappoint.

The second season of Pachinko has been officially renewed, albeit it may take some time for us to see it due to the international nature of the project.
The showrunner, Soo Hugh, is also working on an additional Apple TV+ project. Youn Yuh-Jung (as Kim Sunja), Kim Min-ha (as young Sunja), and Lee Min-ho (as Koh Hansu) will all reprise their respective roles.
