American rapper and singer Kevin Gates was born in the United States. Following the publication of his debut album, which incorporates collaborations with a number of well-known musicians, Kevin Gates has become a well-known solo artist.
After his release from prison, Gates resumed his singing career immediately. The release of his mixtape Make ‘Em Believe in 2012 aided in his rise to fame.
In the summer of 2015, while performing in Lakeland, Florida, Gates was charged with assault for kicking a fan. He cited the state’s “stand your ground” law as his justification. On October 26, 2016, he was sentenced to 180 days in prison after being found guilty of the offence.
The Luca Brasi Story was released by Gates’ Bread Winners’ Association label as his first official release of 2013. According to Pitchfork, many of trap’s recent breakout artists lacked the emotional bareness, superb composition, and melodic surety that the mixtape “imbues” into the genre’s oppressive darkness.
The album sold 112,000 copies in its first week of release and debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 list. The only guest appearance on the album is on the bonus track “Jam,” which features only Trey Songz, Ty Dolla Sign, and Jamie Foxx.
