Robert Pattinson has officially confirmed that The Batman: Part II is set to start filming by the end of 2025. The much anticipated second part of Matt Reeves’ 2022 film is still a work in progress despite the rumors and postponements that have been going on for months. His project was once in danger since the fans were concerned about the future of the movie because of some scheduling issues and industry strikes.
Pattinson reassured them by saying, “Yes, we’re starting late 2025.” Everything is set up. From its initial announcement until now, The Batman Part II has experienced significant delays and differences between the start of production that the team had predicted and the real situation that they faced. Through this, the movie creates the continued connection to the previous project with the gritty and gloomy tone. The news that Barry Keoghan’s Joker who was hinted to in The Batman’s post-credit scene will have a bigger part in the sequel is circulating.
It is also rumored that the sequel will focus more on the streets of Gotham, which are crime-ridden thus, here another possible villain like Mr. Freeze or Two-Face are expected.
In the meantime, DC Studios is transforming its film universe with the assistance of James Gunn and Peter Safran, The Batman Part II will remain a single project as an Elseworlds movie, which means it will be nowhere near the DCU. Additionally, Reeves’ film will be supplemented with a Colin Farrell’s Penguin spin-off series for HBO Max, the expansion of Gotham.
The original movie, which made over $770 million worldwide, received a great deal of attention for its detective-driven noir style, a fresh take on the Caped Crusader. The sequel with Pattinson’s Batman as a younger and gloomier hero not only seems to be the one that some fans have been looking forward to the most but is definitely one of the most expected DC films.
Even though no official release date has been set up, The Batman- Part II is expected to be released in 2026 or later. Indeed, it was already announced that filming will start in late 2025.
