During Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary, Cecily Strong showed off her growing baby belly.
According to Us Weekly, on the red carpet for Sunday, February 16, SNL’s 50th anniversary special, which was hosted in Studio 8H at 30 Rock in New York City, Strong, 40, flaunted her growing tummy. In a stunning black gown with spectacular floor-length sleeves, the former Saturday Night Live star hugged her belly while posing for pictures.
Last year, Strong revealed that she and her fiancé, Jack, were expecting their first child. In November 2024, Strong said on Instagram, “A couple years ago I did a piece on SNL as Goober the Clown who had an abortion the day before her 23rd birthday.” “I am pleased to announce that the same clown is now 40 years old and happily pregnant thanks to IVF.”
“Throughout my life, I’ve been in a lot of waiting rooms with other women,” she added. From feeling scared and alone in a clinic in California years ago to feeling angry and nervous in fertility clinics in New York in recent years, to giddy talking my ear off and wishing everyone luck like I was Forrest Gump on the day of my transfer.
The actress at the time went on to discuss her pregnancy experience, which includes having an abortion in her early twenties and subsequently pursuing in vitro fertilization (IVF) therapy. Strong did, however, add that she was “really hopeful” about meeting her child “next spring.”
Strong disclosed that she and her longtime partner Jack became engaged at the end of 2023 during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers in March 2024. Although the proposal was supposed to be unexpected, she acknowledged that it ended up being spoiled.
“He said one day, ‘Look at this, I’m so overwhelmed with emails and texts.'”He then displayed his phone to me, and the first text message I saw was from a friend asking, “How did it go? The “ring emoji,” Strong remembered. “Then I thought, ‘Oh no, should I?'” “Did you see that?” he asked. “I could try really hard to lie, but…” I said. Then I realized.
The star-studded celebrations for Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary began on Friday, February 14. A number of previous hosts and SNL veterans joined together to raise a glass to the venerable variety show.
