Brandon Ellis, a longtime guitarist for Black Dahlia Murder, announced this morning that he is leaving the band. From 2016 to 2025, Ellis was a member of The Black Dahlia Murder. He appeared on three of the band’s albums: Nightbringers (2017), Verminous (2020), and Servitude (2024).
The only explanation Ellis gave for leaving the band was that “the time has come that I must close this chapter and begin the next.”
“The Black Dahlia Murder and I recently parted ways. I’m appreciative of the nine years I had with this classic band and the unique opportunity to collaborate with the great Trevor Strnad on music. I’m proud of what we’ve done together and of my contributions to the band’s history.
“I regret to inform you that I must now close this chapter and start the next. I want to express my gratitude to the fans for their unwavering support over the years, and I wish the band the very best in all of their future undertakings.”
“We want to thank Brandon Ellis for his 9 years of service and wish him the best of luck in all future endeavors,” the Black Dahlia Murder said in response to the situation.
