A brand-new trailer for one of the most anticipated comic books in recent memory has been released by DC Comics. This March, Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee’s Batman #158 will be available on comic book stores, marking the start of the new Hush sequel narrative arc.

With the words, “The most anticipated sequel in comic history,” the DC trailer appropriately opens as its two renowned authors, Loeb and Lee, appear. The teaser then switches to some comic book action, with Batman mercilessly defeating the clown-masked thugs one jaw-cracking kick at a time after swooping down on a truck delivering lethal fish.

As the teaser ends with a peek of the main antagonist Hush, Lee’s exquisite artwork is hinted at. The new Hush narrative arc, which DC has dubbed H2SH, will start with Batman #158 and end with Batman #163. Loeb and Lee will work on the project with Richard Starkings, Alex Sinclair, and Scott Williams.

Additionally, DC has released a preview page for Batman #158 and #159 as part of an exciting peek at H2SH. The opening sequence of the new video, in which the Dark Knight leaps in to confront the Joker’s goons, is replicated on the first preview page of Batman #158. Batman is brutally struck in the face by the Clown Prince of Crime using a crowbar.

After their battle, the hero falls into the sea and is attacked by ferocious fish. The Joker, meantime, is also having problems. Bruce Wayne later gathers with other Bat Family members at his headquarters, seemingly to decide on their next course of action.

Batman has a flashback about the murder of his parents, Thomas and Martha Wayne, while driving by Park Row in the darker Batman #159 preview. Bruce’s inner struggle is hinted at in DC’s solicitation for the issue: “After the shocking events of the last issue, Batman must make the hardest decision of his life.”

The original Hush plot, which spanned from Batman #608–619 to September 2003, was first revealed in October 2002 and is widely regarded as one of the best Caped Crusader storylines. In the narrative, the enigmatic antagonist Hush is determined to undermine Batman by controlling the hero, his Bat-Family, his close ally Superman, and members of his rogues gallery.

After Bruce Wayne’s father, Dr. Thomas Wayne, saved the life of Thomas’ mother after he tried to kill her covertly as a child, it is later revealed that Hush is actually Thomas Elliot, a boyhood acquaintance of Bruce Wayne who had always harbored animosity toward the Wayne family.

Prepare yourself for a thrilling new chapter in Batman’s history! Batman #158, the eagerly awaited Hush sequel, is poised to change the course of comic book history.
