Talk to Me breakouts Danny and Michael Philippou’s eagerly awaited sophomore project, Bring Her Back, will hit theaters in the United States on May 30. A24 has unveiled a horrifying first trailer for the film.
Although the plot of the movie hasn’t been revealed yet, we now know that it centers on a brother and sister who discover a horrifying ritual at their new foster mother’s remote house. Sally Hawkins, a two-time Oscar nominee, Jonah Wren Phillips, Billy Barratt, and Sora Wong are among the cast members.
The Philippous directed the movie, which we initially told you about. Danny Philippou and Bill Hinzman wrote the script. The Talk to Me team of Samantha Jennings and Kristina Ceyton, through their Causeway Films, is producing the movie, which is co-financed by Salmira Productions and South Australian Film Corporation.
Last summer, the movie’s filming in Australia came to an end. As we initially reported, A24 has retained domestic rights while Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions has bought all worldwide rights—with the exception of Canada, China, Japan, and Russia.
Talk to Me by the Philippous, which debuted in the Midnight section of the Sundance Film Festival and was released to overwhelmingly positive reviews in July 2023, was a huge hit for two relatively unknown directors at the time and sparked the creation of a sequel after being A24’s highest-grossing horror movie ever.
The film portrays a group of teens who learn they can communicate with ghosts through a mysterious embalmed hand. It marks the directorial debut of the Australian twin brother filmmakers, who were previously best known for their YouTube channel RackaRacka.

The film, which starred Sophie Wilde, Alexandra Jensen, and Joe Bird, made nearly $92 million worldwide on an estimated budget of $4.5 million.
