Iddo Goldberg (Snowpiercer) and Michael Vlamis (Roswell, New Mexico) have joined Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of The Odyssey, according to Deadline.

Almost every aspect has been kept secret thus far, even character specifics. The cast is led by Matt Damon as Odysseus, King of Ithaca, whose plot revolves around his treacherous return home following the Trojan War.

The original literary classic, an epic poem by Homer, examined themes of bravery, loyalty, guile, and the fight against divine will. It included tales such as Odysseus’s experiences with the witch-goddess Circe, the Sirens, and the Cyclops Polyphemus, which ended with his reunion with his wife Penelope.

Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Benny Safdie, Charlize Theron, Himesh Patel, Elliot Page, Bill Irwin, Samantha Morton, Jesse Garcia, Will Yun Lee, Mia Goth, Corey Hawkins, Nick Tarabay, Jimmy Gonzales, and Maurice Compte are among the other members of the film’s extensive cast.

On July 17, 2026, Universal Pictures will release the legendary action epic, which was filmed using new IMAX cameras. This is the same window that Nolan has preferred for films like Oppenheimer and The Dark Knight.

Vlamis, who is most known for his role on The CW’s Roswell, New Mexico, just made his feature directorial debut at the Austin Film Festival with the thriller Crossword, in which he co-stars with Harvey Guilén, Sarah Ramos, and Aurora Perrineau. CESD and Artists First are his representatives.

In addition to appearing on Westworld, Get Shorty, The Last Tycoon, Salem, Peaky Blinders, and other programs, Goldberg had a significant role in the television program Snowpiercer. Driven, The Tourist, The Zookeeper’s Wife, and Defiance are among the featured credits. Gordon & French, UTA, and Ethos Entertainment represent him.

With a stellar ensemble, Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey is looking to be an epic cinematic voyage. For more exclusive coverage on this eagerly awaited movie, visit our website to stay up to date on the most recent news, casting information, and behind-the-scenes insights!
