A new teaser trailer has been released for Alex Ross Perry’s upcoming Pavement film. The film features Joe Keery from Stranger Things in the role of Stephen Malkmus.
The latest footage showcases the song “Shady Lane” from Brighten the Corners, which notably includes the phrase, “You’ve been chosen as an extra in the movie adaptation of the sequel to your life.” View the video below.
The film Pavements premiered at last year’s Venice Film Festival. The following footage pertains to “Range Life: A Pavement Story,” a fictional film inside Pavement that serves as a spoof of music biopics, as noted by fans on the IndieHeads forum. The Pavement film features a Pavement film.
In addition to Keery, Pavements features Jason Schwartzman, Fred Hechinger, Tim Heidecker, Logan Miller, Griffin Newman, and Nat Wolff. The film’s broad release date has not yet been disclosed.
In addition to his role in the Pavement film, Joe Keery produces music under the moniker Djo. At the beginning of next month, he will release the new Djo album, The Crux.
