A new trailer for the latest film from horror producer Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Pictures and Universal Pictures, titled “The Woman In The Yard,” will be released in theaters later this month. A single mother and her children, grappling with a personal sorrow, are now tormented by a spectral female figure in their yard, whose persistent presence becomes increasingly unsettling.
Spanish filmmaker Jaume Collet-Serra, known for “Run All Night,” helms a screenplay authored by Sam Stefanak, recognized for the animated Netflix comedy “F Is For Family.” The cast includes Danielle Deadwyler, Okwui Okpokwasili, Russell Hornsby, Peyton Jackson, and Estella Kahiha.
The official logline of the horror film from Universal Pictures:
A woman devastated by sorrow following her survival of a vehicle accident that claims her husband’s life. Ramona, seriously injured, must now independently care for her 14-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter in their remote farmhouse.
Subsequently, one day, the woman materializes in their yard. Ramona presumes the lady is either disoriented or mentally unstable; but, as the woman approaches the house, it becomes evident that she is no ordinary individual, and her intentions are decidedly malevolent.
Ramona must now mobilize to safeguard herself and her children from the relentless pursuit of the lady who refuses to relent.
Collet-Serra is well-acquainted with the horror genre, having directed films such “House of Wax,” “The Orphan,” and the Blake Lively shark-attack thriller “The Swallows.”
Universal will premiere “The Woman In The Yard” on March 28, and the latest trailer is available here.
