The hope among The Bachelorette viewers was that Bryan Abasolo and Rachel Lindsay would be one of those long-lasting pairings. Unfortunately, they are not, and the couple filed for divorce following four years of marriage. Additionally, the former couple’s relationship doesn’t seem to be cordial, as seen by the fact that Rachel reportedly had to pay thousands in spousal support throughout their difficult divorce.
Despite Rachel and Bryan’s ongoing disagreement, the Los Angeles Superior Court has finally decided how much spousal support Rachel should pay. The Bachelorette star is reportedly required to pay nearly $13,000 in temporary spousal support each month, according to InTouch Weekly. However, why so much? According to reports, Bryan required this in order to vacate their North Hollywood, California joint residence.
Why Was Rachel Lindsay Ordered to Pay Spousal Support by the Court?
In their announcement of their divorce, Bryan Abasolo gave the reason of “irreconcilable differences.” Even though the scenario involving the ex-couple might be nearing resolution, there have been difficulties since then.
It is claimed in court records that In Touch Weekly was able to get that “[Rachel] is ordered to pay [Bryan] temporary spousal support in the sum of $13,257.00 per month.” It is also said that she needs to pay his $15,000 legal fees as well as $5,000 for his “forensic expert expenses.”
Bryan realized living with his ex was not ideal and wanted to move out of their joint house. “The way we currently live is really uncomfortable and tense. He allegedly told the judge, “We usually try to avoid each other and don’t even talk to each other.” “Our house has security cameras outside thanks to Rachel. The security cameras’ credentials are unique to Rachel, who is able to keep an eye on my whereabouts.”
He said, “I want to move out of our family residence as soon as possible, but maintaining our standard of living is not financially feasible at this time.”
Rachel also provided her perspective, asserting that she bore most of their joint expenses. She stated, “Apart from covering our gardener’s fees and half of our housekeeping expenses, Bryan remains in my home without financially supporting any other expenditures.”
The Relationship Between Bryan Abasolo and Rachel Lindsay Takes A Turn
According to reports, Rachel Lindsay wasn’t opposed to providing spousal support; but, they couldn’t agree on how much. She believed she should be paying $9,882 a month, while Bryan, according to InTouch, desired at least $16,275. Although neither party received the whole amount they had wanted, the judge’s decision seems to meet them halfway.
Fans of the former couple are aware that this is not the first time their nasty divorce has made news. Lindsay mentioned the divorce and its effects on her in passing in a June audio episode of Higher Learning with Van Lathan and Rachel Lindsay. She called it “a difficult time” but declined to elaborate on the specifics of what went wrong. She said, “This is not the right time.” “[I’m] just trying to take it day by day.”
